Arielle Ruth Johansen and Chad Christopher Stadig plan to marry Aug. 25 at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairbanks.

The bride is the daughter of Gail and Tony Johansen of Fairbanks. She graduated from West Valley High School in 2001 and earned a bachelor’s degree in music in violin performance from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2006. She is a member of the Fairbanks Symphony and Arctic Chamber Orchestra, where she plays the violin and the viola. In addition, she has a private violin studio and teaches with the Fairbanks School of Talent Education.

The groom is the son of Gail and Gary Stadig of Chugiak. He is a 1998 Chugiak High School graduate. He graduated from UAF in 2005, with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He is employed as a service account engineer at Siemens Building Technologies in Fairbanks.

The couple met when Johansen was a freshman at UAF, and both were members of the Collegiate Music Educators National Conference Service Group. They were student representatives to the 2002 conference in Nashville, Tenn.
